Three weeks Prior To Your Wedding Day

Three weeks to go – and there are still some tasks to be done. The best thing is, they’re getting smaller and smaller, day by day – and the number of them remaining is also getting smaller.

This week, the focus is on:

• finalising everything you’ll wear
• wedding day checklist
• MC
• seating arrangement plan
• speeches

Dressing Accessories

Make sure you have bought – or arranged to hire – everything you intend to wear on your special day, including any accessories.

Wedding Timeline

Make a timeline for the wedding day itself, so you don’t forget anything – deliveries, set-up, bump out etc – and precisely who is responsible for doing what on the day. Make sure you take some stress off yourselves by asking friends to help out on the last day or two when things need to be picked up from all over town.

Master of Ceremonies

Is your after-party the sort where you need an MC? If so, perhaps choose one of your guests who’s got the confidence and personality to carry it off in just the way that works for you as a couple. Ask them – and be clear about what you want and expect of them as the MC

Seating Arrangement

If your after-party involves a traditional seating arrangement around or along tables, and you need to place people in various seats, then now’s the time to finalise those arrangements. Or perhaps you can simply let your guests choose where they sit.

Planning Speeches

Are you going to have speeches – either at your ceremony or at your after-party? If so, now is the time to alert the person(s) who you want to say a few words, that you’d like them to do so. And give them some idea of how long you’d like them to speak for and the sort of thing you’d like them to include (and nt include!) in their speech. Don’t just spring it on them five minutes before you want them to speak. Of course, you can always dispense with speeches and have none. Not one!
