You’ve got four months until your special day. It’s around this time that things begin to get very real. None of the following is mandatory, of course, but they’re included here to help you decide whether or not to include them on your wedding day. And your budget will help you make that decision.
This month, the focus is on:
- Wedding cake
- Wedding rings – and alternatives
- House and contents insurance
- Spa treatment
- Nail, hair and makeup
Wedding Cake
If you’re having a wedding cake, make an appointment with a cake-maker and check out their various styles. Make sure they can do what you want, in terms of cake. Alternatively, if it’d suit you better to have small, bite-size desserts in place of the traditional cake, check out some great caterers who can meet those needs. Here’s one Yum Catering
If you’re not so much into rings but still want to mark the moment where you get to give each other something memorable during your wedding, perhaps consider exchanging gorgeous bracelets or watches or brooches.

Wedding Rings
If you’re exchanging wedding rings, begin looking at rings that suit both of you. Remember, they don’t have to be identical. Here’s a terrific supplier in the heart of Melbourne: Lord Coconut If you’re not so much into rings but still want to mark the moment where you get to give each other something memorable during your wedding, perhaps consider exchanging gorgeous bracelets or watches or brooches rather than rings, as part of your ceremony.
And whatever you buy, make sure it’s covered under your house and contents insurance from the time you purchase it.
