Gay Celebrant
Bronte Price
I’m gay. It’s your day. Done your way.
Let’s Talk!
Hi – my name’s Bronte Price and I’m an authorised marriage celebrant. I’m also gay. I’ve arguably married more LGBTIQA+ couples than any other celebrant in Australia. Many of my LGBTIQA + couples come from countries where there’s no marriage equality. You can see where they come from in this diagram:
Please download my free e-book – Getting Married in Australia.
I have an in-depth understanding of LGBTIQA + weddings, their rituals and traditions that help make a wedding as queer as you like!
Credentials & AwardsI understand and respect people’s need for privacy and personal safety when they want to get married.
My TestimonialsI’m available to marry you whenever you wish, wherever you wish, because I’m a full-time celebrant.
Check AvailabilityI deeply understand the challenges, vulnerabilities & needs of members of the LGBTIQA + community.
There is still a need to train wedding suppliers in LGBTIQA + inclusion, so they can work respectfully with LGBTIQA + couples.
Check Wedding SuppliersAs an ex-senior public servant & ex-English/Drama teacher, I know how to write and use ceremony space effectively.
Check My BlogThe most important part of my job as a marriage celebrant is to ensure all the legal requirements are met. My knowledge and the professional systems I’ve established make sure that this happens.

Yes! I’m a registered Marriage Celebrant and I‘ve married more than 70 straight couples. I certainly look forward to marrying many more straight couples in the future.
It goes without saying that my fees are the same for straight couples as they are for same sex couples. My fees are mid-range and depend on the unique requirements of my clients. It makes most sense for us discuss the total cost for your ceremony at the end of our first meeting, when we’ve had a chance to discuss what sort of wedding you’re after.
Yes! Years of experience as a marriage celebrant help me create a hassle free plan for your unique wedding experience. You get a free wedding planner checklist when you book your wedding with me.
I’m based in Pascoe Vale (Victoria). And, I travel all over Melbourne and regional Victoria, as well as interstate, to plan and deliver ceremonies.
No! My first meeting is on me and is free. You can call me or check my availability to book an appointment at a time that suits us both.
Marriage celebrants work with couples to plan and deliver marriage ceremonies, making sure that all the necessary legal requirements are met. Marriage celebrants are authorised by the Australian Attorney General’s Department to conduct marriages within Australia. In addition to marriages, many marriage celebrants conduct a range of other ceremonies such as funerals and memorials, naming ceremonies, renewals of vows and commitment ceremonies.
You can book a marriage celebrant anytime you wish, as long as it’s at least one month before your wedding. The amount of time needed to plan your marriage ceremony will depend on how complex your ceremony is – your celebrant will be able to help you with this.
You need to provide ID evidence – a passport or, if you don’t have one, a birth certificate and driver’s licence, for example. If you’ve been married before, you need to provide evidence that that marriage has ended – e.g. a death certificate or divorce certificate.
It’s up to the couple to decide. Both enable you to get married legally. Often, by choosing a marriage celebrant, you get greater flexibility about where and when to get married – and the fees are often the same, for a simple, legals-only marriage ceremony.
